The Open Fuel Standard Allows for ALL Forms of Fuel

Sunday, May 22, 2011

A short article in the Mid Hudson News points out an important feature of the Open Fuel Standard Act of 2011: It allows all forms of liquid fuel to compete with each other at the pump, "including flex fuel, natural gas, hydrogen, biodiesel, plug-in electric drive, and fuel cell — and a catch-all for new technologies."

In all likelihood, over the next twenty years, flex-fuel vehicles would naturally become more and more common. But as this little article points out, the purpose of passing this bill now is to give "certainty to investors producing alternative fuels and allow gas stations to have a variety of pumps supplying those alternative fuels."

Passing the bill as soon as possible gets things started quickly. We need your help to make this happen. Start here.
